ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS & COST OF PROGRAM |
ADMISSION | A maximum of 20 students is
admitted each year, based on curriculum. The minimum admission requirement
is a three-year BA for applicants from the EU (in Italy: "laurea
triennale"), the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand; a four-year
university degree for all other applicants. Our applicants typically hold
degrees in languages and literatures or a cognate humanities field (political/social
sciences, history, etc.). A certification of English proficiency is a firm
prerequisite for admission (see below). If you are a graduating student
(i.e. if you do not yet hold the required minimum degree) you may still
apply for this program, provided you receive the required degree NO LATER
THAN October. Applications are received from February through September. The MA board evaluates applications and announces admissions on a rolling basis, beginning in April. Early applicants stand better chances of being admitted to the program. |
COST | Overall cost of tuition: 3,500 euro. Tutition fee includes application, lab and university fees. Once admitted to the program, payments are made in two installments, one in September, and one by the start of the second semester. |
ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY |
English language proficiency is
an essential prerequisite for succeeding in this program. Unless they are
native speakers of English or graduates of universities in the UK, Ireland,
US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, applicants must also submit proof of
English language proficiency (minimum level required: B2). Here is a list of
the language certifications (with minimum score, if applicable) we accept.
Certifications must be LESS THAN 3 YEARS OLD.
PLEASE NOTICE: Applicants holding a university degree in Foreign Languages including English from an Italian university (minimum score 100/110) need not provide proof of English language proficiency. |
ITALIAN LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT |
Although our program is FULLY TAUGHT in English, a BASIC COMPETENCE OF ITALIAN is REQUIRED in order to live and study in Italy. We do not test Italian language competence as a prerequisite for admission to the program; however, applicants should understand the need for basic Italian language competence and take measures, if necessary, to bring their Italian up to the minimum "survival" competence BEFORE seeking admission. |
